Questions
Answers about pricing, moving your records and working in Cortege.
Buying Cortege
Do you charge per user?
No. Your monthly quote covers the firm and includes unlimited staff logins. Adding a member of staff does not increase the bill.
Can we see it before committing to anything?
Yes. Start with a demo. If the product looks suitable, we can load a sample of your records for you to review before deciding.
Moving your records
Can you move our records off Passare, Halcyon or SRS?
We work with you to import records from your current system. We first review an export, load a sample and check the results against your records. The source data determines what can be transferred and what needs attention.
What happens to our records if we leave?
An owner or manager can download cases, contacts, contracts, payments and uploaded documents from Settings, in open formats and at no charge. You can also ask us for a copy; we send it within three business days.
Everyday use
Do you build our website?
You can keep your existing website provider. Cortege manages casework and can supply obituary pages and a feed for your website. Discuss any additional website requirements with us during the demo.
Can we publish obituaries?
Yes. An obituary can have a hosted page and a link to share with relatives. Your website can display notices using the feed or embed, without re-entering the text.
We run more than one chapel. Does that work?
Yes. Multiple locations can belong to one firm. Each case belongs to a location, and staff access can be limited to the locations they work. Your quote identifies any additional location fees.
Can we keep financial information away from some staff?
Yes. Staff roles control access to financial information. Administrative staff can enter case details and produce paperwork without seeing contract totals or the family balance.
How is our data protected?
Staff access is restricted by role and location. An owner can require two-step sign-in for the firm. Requests to reveal a social security number are recorded in the audit trail. The Security page explains these controls in more detail.
