Funeral home software costs include more than the monthly subscription. A written quote should make it clear what your firm will pay each month, what it will pay to get started and which charges come from other providers. Give each supplier the same staff count, locations and annual call volume so the proposals are easier to compare.
The monthly charge
Check which features and locations the quote covers. Ask whether adding staff, handling more cases or collecting signatures changes the bill.
Cortege quotes one monthly amount for the firm, with unlimited staff and the full product included. Annual call volume informs the quote. There is no per-case or per-signature charge. Additional locations may cost extra and are identified in the quote.
Moving records and preparing staff
Agree which cases, payments and documents will be transferred, how a sample will be checked and what training staff will receive. If your existing records need extra work, establish the cost before the move begins.
Cortege agrees the import scope and any separate charges with you before starting.
Payments and other services
Ask which payment account receives family payments and what processing fees apply. Cortege adds no percentage to those payments. They go through your firm's connected Stripe account, with Stripe's processing fees charged separately.
Messaging, accounting and website connections may also involve provider accounts, setup or usage charges. Include the services your firm intends to use when discussing the quote.
Renewal and access to your records
Confirm the billing period, renewal terms and how changes in firm size affect the price. Ask how you can obtain your records and documents if you leave, and whether assistance carries a charge.
Cortege owners and managers can download records and document files free. You can also request a copy; it is supplied within three business days, including when leaving.
Keep the subscription, setup work, migration and provider charges together when comparing offers. Take any unanswered questions back to the supplier before agreeing to proceed.
Compare the work the systems support as well as their price. The funeral home software buying guide covers what to check during a demonstration.
