Review bank balances and activity

Open Finances → Cash & banking with the appropriate financial access. Bank balances, case receipts, deposit slips and bookkeeping entries are separate records. Viewing or connecting an account here does not move money.

Choose the right account and source

Use Add a manual account for balances entered by staff, or Connect bank when the installation's bank provider is configured. Connect operating accounts here and trust accounts through the separate trust workflow. A connection cannot be reclassified between trust and operating cash.

Enter a recognisable name and optional last four digits; do not enter full account or routing numbers in notes. Classify the account before relying on operating totals. Trust, restricted and unclassified accounts are excluded; eligible payroll accounts can be included.

Read a balance

Check currency, observation time, freshness and whether a balance is entered, cached or freshly checked. Balance unavailable is not zero. Stale or unknown balances are omitted from totals, and Partial total means the figure does not include every account.

For a manual account, use Record an entered balance and Save balance observation. Blank means unknown; enter zero only for an actual zero balance. The observation is dated when saved.

Sync activity imports transactions. Check balance now makes a fresh provider check and uses the firm's displayed allowance. Check the last successful sync and history coverage; a completed initial import does not promise older history beyond its reported start.

Review activity and export

Choose account, currency, From/To dates, description search and whether to Include pending, then Apply. Page through the results. Transfers can appear on both accounts; pending activity can change before posting.

Use the offered exports for the applied scope. An export over the displayed limit is refused; narrow the filters and retry. A limited chart is not a complete transaction total. Manual balances have no linked transaction history.

Repair or stop a connection

Use Reconnect bank or Update connection when requested. If the provider is unavailable, keep the last observation's date and status in mind rather than treating it as current. Disconnect bank stops future reads while retaining imported accounts, balances and transactions.

For case-payment reconciliation, use Deposit slips. For ledger posting, use Accounting.
